Some leaders are made by satan – Obasanjo

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has stirred fresh conversations with his assertion that not all leaders are appointed by God, arguing that some ascend to power through satanic influence.
Speaking during a virtual session of Boiling Point Arena, Obasanjo highlighted the role of divine and satanic forces in leadership selection, emphasizing that while God’s leaders are prepared for success, those enthroned by Satan are doomed to fail.
“Most leaders are prepared by God, and this divine preparation gives them the grace to achieve success. However, leaders made by Satan lack that grace and are bound to falter,” Obasanjo stated.
He went on to reject the belief that all leaders are divinely ordained. Citing the biblical story of Job, Obasanjo remarked, “Satan was going to and fro and came before God. God commended Job, but Satan attributed Job’s righteousness to his blessings from God.”
On governance, the former president warned against underestimating the power of Satan, noting, “Satan is real, and his power should not be underrated. He has power, but he has no salvation.”
Turning to Nigeria’s governance challenges, Obasanjo lamented the pervasive corruption plaguing the nation, describing it as a “hydra-headed monster.” He urged leaders to lead the fight against corruption consistently and continuously.
“Corruption cannot be eradicated in one day, one regime, or even two. It requires a sustained, daily effort. Once we let up, it spreads,” he stressed.
The discovererng.com reports that Obasanjo’s statements come amidst ongoing discussions about leadership accountability and the fight against corruption in the country.
