IPOB warns against RUGA, cattle ranching in South-East

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a stern warning against any attempts to establish cattle ranches, settlement schemes, or RUGA initiatives in the South-East region.
This was conveyed during the 2025 New Year broadcast by Chika Edoziem, Head of IPOB’s Directorate of State.
In his address, Edoziem criticized the federal government under President Bola Tinubu, warning that such initiatives could jeopardize the peace and security of the South-East.
He also urged Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah to abandon any plans to implement RUGA in the state.
Edoziem reaffirmed IPOB’s longstanding opposition to such schemes, which the group believes could lead to unwelcome incursions into the region. He emphasized that any move to impose cattle settlement initiatives in Biafra land would face resolute resistance.
“To the Tinubu administration, the IPOB movement has maintained a neutral stance towards your governance since you assumed office,” Edoziem said. “Make no mistake, the IPOB movement is not afraid of confrontation as we are born with it.”
He further warned, “If the Tinubu administration wishes to add more issues to its plate, it should proceed with its agenda to bring RUGA or cattle settlements to Biafraland. We will demonstrate our resolve to him.”
