It is absolutely noteworthy that personalities like Sen. George Akume, the SGF and his associates, who have shown nothing but disdain for constructive dialogue, resort to unwarranted personal attacks rather than engaging meaningfully in a civil discourse.
Their recent futile efforts to vilify my character reveal their desperation and inability to engage and address the real issues at hand.
Firstly, I declined to stoop to their level by engaging in personal attacks and vilification of personalities. My resolve to civil engagement remains steadfast, even when faced with such unwarranted hostility.
To me, I am not disappointed to see Akume’s associates and ad hoc loyalists like Loverty Maikyur, Terseer Ugbor and one Terrence Kuanum choose to undermine, through their malicious rhetoric, Gov. Hyacinth Alia’s genuine efforts to reposition the state to the path of development. This is because I know them, an unprincipled lot.
While reluctant to join issues with commentators we consider those commentaries irrelevant in our quest to position the state on a pedestal of sound growth and sustainable development. But it is also important to put those who have constituted themselves into irritants in their place.
One of them, Loverty Maikyur, who called for my removal as Chief Press Secretary is not only misguided but also notorious in hypocrisy.
How can an individual who has publicly humiliated himself having been severely caught in disgraceful acts, dare question my integrity? His attempts to deflect his failures onto me are just pathetic. The audacity he displays while masking his shame is both astounding and revealing of his character.
As for Hon. Terseer Ugbor, his actions speak volumes about his lack of accountability and integrity. Attempting to divert essential commodities meant for his constituents and suing the Governor in a misguided act of blackmail only exposes his true intentions.
Ugbor, who has consistently undermined the Governor’s efforts, now pretends to be an advocate for ‘sanity’ while simultaneously calling for my dismissal.
His personal life, marked by turmoil and public embarrassment, disqualifies him from lecturing or judgment judging anyone on integrity.
If he cannot manage his household, how can he possibly question my commitment to the people of Benue State? His ongoing struggles are a testament to his failures, and I will not be intimidated by someone whose own life is a mess.
For Terence Kuanum, a well known political jobber and hired mouthpiece, who now claims to be the“ Special Adviser” on Media to our dear Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, Benue citizens will recall the infamous roles he played during the administration of Samuel Ortom between 2015- 2023.
Kuanum it was who organized press conferences vilifying the APC including the SGF, a Senator and later Minister during the periods. It was Kuanum who spun the rhetoric of the APC being a killer and Fulani Party.
Interestingly, this was the person who led the stage-managed blockade of Samuel Ortom, preventing him from attending a meeting with the National Chairman of the APC to resolve differences with Senator Akume. In the process, his goons desecrated the APC flag by removing it from the then Governor’s staff car.
A few minutes later, Ortom announced his defection to the PDP, with the Party officials comfortably seated while this drama played out at the Government House Banquet Hall.
It is that Kuanum that today claims to speak for the SGF and is always active particularly on issues involving governance in Benue State. Today, Kuanum has become an Akume born again disciple, like the biblical Paul, now works for the same person he viciously prosecuted and persecuted in the recent past. This simply exposes him as an unprincipled and unstable character whose words should never be taken serious.
Kuanum’s meal ticket begins and ends with the affairs of Benue. He is clearly aware that characters like him have no place in the new Benue operating under the transparent watch of Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia.
The Office of the SGF has nationwide imaged and ad hoc ‘aides’ like Kuanum can do more to add value to the office rather than remaining obsessed with Benue, a small component of the Federation.
This remains my mission statement: I stand firm in my resolve to uphold the truth and act in the best interest of our dear Benue State. And I will not be swayed by the empty threats from individuals whose characters are marred by their failings. My dedication to serving the people of Benue State remains unwavering, and I will continue to advocate for progress and integrity in the face of adversity.
Sir Tersoo Kula, MNIPR
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State.
