VIDEO: Shock as woman loses ₦265k after Nigerian bank ATM seizes her card

A heartbreaking video circulating on social media shows a Nigerian woman in tears outside a bank after allegedly losing ₦265,000 in a suspected case of fraud.
According to the distressed woman, her ordeal began when an ATM at the bank seized her card. She immediately went inside to report the issue, but the bank staff informed her that she could only retrieve it the following Monday. However, just 20 minutes later, she received alerts showing that ₦265,000 had been withdrawn from her account via a POS terminal.
The woman, visibly shaken in the viral video, explained that the money was sent to her by her husband to pay for her shop rent. With her funds gone, she was left in shock and despair outside the bank, pleading for help.

The incident has created social media buzz, with many Nigerians calling for banks to improve their security measures and take responsibility for such cases. Some users also questioned how a seized ATM card could still be used for transactions, raising concerns about possible internal compromises within the banking system.
As of now, the bank in question has yet to respond to the allegations, but pressure is mounting for an investigation into the matter.
