JAMB sends warning to registration centers

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a stern warning to registration centers engaging in nocturnal (late-night) registration of candidates for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), emphasizing the safety of candidates over profit.
In a statement released in Abuja on Sunday, JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, cautioned that the Board will not tolerate such practices, listing 10 centers across different states as offenders. He stressed that this warning would be the final one before sanctions are imposed.
“While JAMB appreciates the enthusiasm of these centers to register as many candidates as possible, this should never come at the cost of candidates’ safety and security,” the statement read.
The centers flagged for nighttime registration include:
Kwara State: Thomas Adewumi University, Oko; Lafiagi Emirate Information Technology & Innovation Hub, Lafiagi.
Benue State: CBT Centre Otukpo, Otukpo.
Rivers State: Ebenezer International School, Port Harcourt.
Jigawa State: Jigawa State College of Education, Gumel.
FCT: Zulqud Consult Ltd (ZCL CBT Center), Lugbe.
Cross River State: Klinnicapps Academy, Okuku; Beeps Technology Limited, Ogoja; FZX Media Consulting Limited, Ikom.
Plateau State: Sani Mikaila Comprehensive College, Jos.
JAMB warned that no further notice would be given before enforcement actions commence, stressing that any center found violating its guidelines would face appropriate consequences.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent registration process, adding that any exploitative practices would not be condoned.
However, some center operators have attributed the nighttime registration trend to poor network stability during the day, claiming that internet congestion forces them to operate late at night to ensure a smooth registration process.
