Adeboye disowns viral video promoting drug advertisement

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has distanced himself from a viral video falsely portraying him as endorsing a medical product.
The misleading footage, which has been circulating on Facebook,
features an AI-generated image of Pastor Adeboye promoting a supposed remedy for prostatitis. The video, shared via the handle ‘Africa Health Centre’, has created widespread reactions online.
Addressing the controversy, Pastor Adeboye took to his social media pages to debunk the claims, warning the public against falling victim to the fraudulent scheme. He clarified that he has no affiliation with the advert and condemned the use of artificial intelligence to manipulate his image.
He stated, “I have been made aware of disturbing AI-generated videos falsely advertising certain drugs and scholarships, aimed at misleading the public. These videos are NOT from me, and I want to make it clear that I have no involvement in such promotions.”
The revered cleric urged his followers to remain vigilant, refrain from engaging with such deceptive content, and report the fraudulent accounts responsible for the misleading posts. He assured that legal action is already underway to hold those behind the scam accountable.
“This malicious act by ‘Africa Health Centre’ and ‘Church-Funded Scholarships’ is being addressed by the relevant authorities, as we will not allow God’s name to be used in vain for such wickedness,” he added.
Pastor Adeboye’s swift response has drawn support from his followers, who have condemned the unauthorized use of AI technology to misrepresent the RCCG leader.
