Reaction as soldier confronts popular Nigerian bank over unauthorized deductions

A Nigerian military officer has gone viral on social media after publicly accusing a popular commercial bank of illegally debiting his account without explanation.
In a viral video, the visibly upset soldier, dressed in full military uniform, alleged that the bank had been making repeated unauthorized deductions from his account, prompting him to speak out.
He claimed that the deductions had gone on for too long without any justification, and warned the bank to refund his money or face consequences.
“Make una refund my money for my account back. Me I no be Verydarkman oo, make una respect una self. This one I no go gree for una o. Una too dey chop my money, dey minus my money anyhow,” the officer said, referencing the controversial arrest of social commentator VeryDarkMan, who was recently detained after calling out a bank over issues with his mother’s account.
The soldier’s video has created conversations on social media, with many Nigerians echoing similar frustrations over unexplained bank charges and demanding better accountability from financial institutions.
