NYSC: Mass Communication graduate laments after being posted to bakery

A Nigerian youth corps member has stirred emotions online after revealing that she was posted to a bakery for her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) assignment, despite graduating with a degree in Mass Communication.
The corps member, who goes by the handle @Aridunu_jones on X (formerly Twitter), took to the platform to vent her frustration over what she described as an unjust deployment by NYSC.
Sharing her ordeal, she wrote:
“God will help me and judge NYSC. When I studied Mass Communication, you guys now posted me to a BAKERY. BAKERY OOOO!!!”
Her post, which carried a tone of disbelief and disappointment, quickly went viral, drawing reactions from fellow Nigerians—especially other serving corps members and graduates who shared similar experiences.
Many sympathized with her, while others criticized the NYSC’s placement system, calling for reforms to ensure that corps members are posted in alignment with their academic qualifications.
