Breaking: Police take over PDP secretariat ahead of NEC meeting

There was heightened tension in Abuja on Monday as heavily armed police officers took over Wadata Plaza, the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), disrupting activities and ordering staff and journalists out of the building.
The unexpected security presence comes just hours before the party’s scheduled National Executive Committee (NEC) Expanded Caucus Meeting, fueling speculations of an attempt to shut down the gathering.
According to Channels TV, some PDP staff were initially allowed access to the premises, they were later instructed to vacate the building. Journalists covering the event were also forced out.
Officers also blocked Dalaba Street, the major access route to the party’s headquarters, creating confusion among party faithful and passersby.
As of press time, no official statement had been released by either the police or the PDP leadership.
