Access Bank has confirmed the dismissal of one of its employees, Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie, after he was caught secretly recording female colleagues in the bank’s restroom.
Ejezie, who served as a quality assurance specialist at the bank’s contact center in Oniru, Lagos, was apprehended around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday while attempting to film female staff members without their consent.
In an official statement, Access Bank condemned the incident and reiterated its strict zero-tolerance policy against harassment and any violation of privacy. The bank emphasized that it is fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and appropriate legal action.
“We are providing full support to the affected employees and prioritizing their well-being throughout this process,” the statement read. The bank further urged the public to rely on updates from its verified communication channels, assuring that the safety, dignity, and privacy of its employees and customers remain paramount.
While Ejezie’s employment has been terminated, some of the affected staff have expressed concerns over the pursuit of justice, emphasizing the need for transparent handling of the case.
Access Bank thanked the public for their concern and support, pledging to see the matter through and to uphold the highest standards of workplace ethics and safety.
