Breaking: PDP shifts BoT meeting to Yar’Adua Center as confusion grows over “management” signature

The deepening leadership crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took another twist on Monday as the venue for the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting was abruptly relocated from the PDP National Secretariat in Wadata Plaza to the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Center in Abuja’s Central Business District.
In a terse statement circulated to party stakeholders and titled “Special Announcement! Change of Venue for the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting”, the party simply stated:
“The Meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), earlier scheduled to hold by 10AM at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, has been moved to Yar’Adua Center, Central Business District, Abuja.
All BoT members are by this notice advised to proceed to the new venue.”
Signed: Management
However, the lack of clarity over who precisely constitutes the “Management” signing such a sensitive communiqué has triggered fresh controversy within the already divided party.
The statement, which bore no specific names or designations, has raised eyebrows among members and political observers alike.
The timing of the venue change has further fueled speculation, coming just days after Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, controversially suspended the 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting—a move strongly opposed by BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, who publicly insisted that Damagum lacked the authority to unilaterally cancel a constitutionally mandated meeting.
“This unsigned notice only adds to the perception that the party is not speaking with one voice,” said a party insider who requested anonymity. “If management issued this, then who is management? Is it the NWC, the secretariat staff, or a faction of the leadership?”
