Eid-al-Fitr: NSCDC boss, Audi orders massive deployment to ensure hitch-free celebration

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi has assured the public of a serene and hitch-free Sallah celebration having ordered massive deployment of personnel across various sones, states and all formations.
Addressing the recent explosions and attacks on pipeline installations; the NSCDC boss said any act of vandalism and destruction of the Critical National Assets and Infrastructure has a debilitating effect on the Nation’s Economy and such would not tolerated.
In a statement on Saturday, signed by the Corps spokesman, CSC Afolabi Baba wale, the CG commended the recent combined operations of the Armed Forces, DSS, Police and the NSCDC in Rivers State which led to foiled attempt of vandals against Oil Installations in Allu-Rumuekpe in Emuoha Local Government Area of the State noting that effective Collaborations, Cooperation and Coordination amongst Security agencies remain a panacea to curbing crime and criminalities across board.
The CG however expressed the Corps’ preparedness to deliver on its mandate and further solicited for public support by giving credible Information and actionable intelligence in order to forestall incidents of attack on Critical Infrastructure and all forms of breakdown of law and order.
To this end, the Commandant General directed that all hands must be on deck across all the 36 States of the federation and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
“You are all aware that criminal minded persons mostly embark on their nefarious operation taking advantage of festive periods; we must justify the confidence reposed in us by the government and the public in general by discharging our statutory responsibilities while exercising professionalism and sense of loyalty to the nation. ”
Audi hinted that the deployment would cut across all formations, departments and tactical units aimed at forestalling any security threat before, during or after the Sallah celebrations.
He maintained that the Corps in synergy with other security agencies are ready to mount surveillance to secure oil pipelines, power and telecomm installations, rail lines, mining sites among other critical infrastructure.
He also relayed that operatives of the Corps from the Special Intelligence Squad, Mining Marshall, Crack Squad, Special Force, Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT), Female Special Force, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation (DII) and general duties etc have all been placed on red alert to respond swiftly assuring that the Eid-al-fitri Celebration would be hitch-free.
The NSCDC helmsman explained further that the Corps High Command has mandated all State Commandants whose command are located within coaster environment must abide by Corps’ Standard Operating Procedure and deploy effectively the equipment entrusted in their care to maintain adequate security during the Sallah celebrations.
