FRSC boosts operational efficiency, trains 341 commanders

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has initiated a comprehensive capacity-building program for 341 Unit and Outpost Commanders.
The programme focuses on traffic enforcement and management, road safety education and advocacy, data analysis and research, leadership and management development, and digital literacy and technology adoption.
A statement on Thursday in Abuja by the Corps Public Education Officer, Mr Olusegun Ogungbemide, said the training was currently underway at the FRSC Academy in Udi, Enugu State.
Ogungbemide said the training was part of a series of leadership development programs introduced by the Corps’ current leadership.
He quoted the FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed as declaring the training open and reaffirmed that Unit and Outpost Commands were a very integral part of the Corps that play key role in enforcing compliance of traffic rules and regulations.
Mohammed stated that the Corps considered them invaluable assets and was dedicated to creating an enabling environment that fostered growth, innovation, and excellence.
Mohammed, who was represented by the Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) in charge of Operations Department, Mr Hyginus Omeje, added that they also contributed immensely to moving the Corps forward.
“The capacity-building programme aims to empower staff with the latest skills, knowledge, and best practices in road safety management.
“The training features a combination of theoretical and practical sessions, workshops, and mentoring, conducted by in-house and international experts.”
The Corps Marshal urged Commanders to leverage technological innovations, such as the FRSC Mobile Application an d the National Crash Information Recording System Portal, to enhance their work.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Corps had just concluded the training of Road Marshal Operatives of the Corps in one of the Corps’ training institutions in Shendam, Plateau State.
