Govt shuts down Cubana Chief Priest’s restaurant

The Lagos State Government has once again sealed Donald’s Fast Food, a popular restaurant in Lekki owned by celebrity businessman Cubana Chief Priest, over allegations of illegal waste disposal.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, made the announcement in a statement shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) page. According to Wahab, the closure followed reports of unauthorized dumping of refuse by individuals linked to the establishment.
“In the early hours of Sunday, May 18, 2025, the Chairman of the Lekki Estate Residents Association (LERA) alerted us to an incident involving the illegal dumping of waste along Durosimi-Etti Street in Lekki Phase 1,” Wahab wrote.
He detailed that a white Ford van bearing Abuja registration number GWA 136E was caught in the act of indiscriminately discharging refuse. Upon investigation, the vehicle was traced back to Donald’s Fast Food, which he described as a nightlife hotspot situated on Road 14 within the estate.
Two suspects were reportedly apprehended at the scene by LERA’s Chief Security Officer and detained at the LERA Secretariat. In a shocking twist, the individuals allegedly attempted to bribe the security team with ₦100,000—a bribe that was promptly rejected.
This incident marks yet another clash between Cubana Chief Priest’s business and Lagos authorities. In September 2024, Donald’s Fast Food was previously sealed for environmental infractions, including noise pollution.
