Ile-Ife stands firm with APC, party chieftain rejects misinformation, political gimmicks

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Adeyemi Adediwura, has rejected claims by some opposition elements that his axis, Ile-Ife had dumped APC, describing as a “misinfornation and political gimmick.”

Prof. Adediwura, a scholar, however, declared that Ife-Ile remains “a stronghold of progressive ideals, stands solidly with distinguished leaders such as Senator Iyiola Omisore, former Deputy Governor of Osun State; Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal, the Osun APC State Chairman; Prince Adeogun Halbert; Hon. Yera Elugbaju; and many other committed leaders who have tirelessly worked to ensure the party’s continued strength in the region.”

The APC chieftain had issued a statement on Sunday where he made observations on the level of development and appointment given to Ife axis in Osun state by the APC government which was misinterpreted by the opposition elements.

Reacting to the development through a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, Adediwura called on the opposition political parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to engage in constructive politics rather than resorting to falsehoods and misinformation to gain relevance.

According to him, the APC remains the party of development, progress, and inclusivity in Ile-Ife, and no amount of propaganda can change the reality on the ground.

The narrative being spread by opposition elements, falsely claiming that Ile-Ife is rejecting the APC using the name of Prof. Alaba Adediwura, is nothing but a desperate attempt to mislead the public.
