Kano: Governor Yusuf’s senior adviser resigns, joins APC

Abdulrahman Muhammad Sulaiman, also known as Mai-Kadama, a Senior Special Adviser to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has resigned from his role and switched allegiance from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His decision came after a meeting with Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, in Abuja.
Mai-Kadama, who previously led the Kwankwasiyya movement in Plateau State and headed the G-6 faction in Kano State, made the announcement on Thursday.
In a Facebook post, Jibrin welcomed Mai-Kadama to the APC, describing his defection as a significant boost for the party.
Jibrin noted that Mai-Kadama has taken on a new identity as “Mai Kadama Maliya” and has also stepped down from his positions with the Kano State government, Kwankwasiyya in Plateau State, and the G-6 faction.
He emphasized that Mai-Kadama’s move to APC is aimed at promoting good governance and accelerating development.
Mai-Kadama urged his fellow young political allies to join APC to contribute to delivering better governance and advancing democratic values.
Jibrin reiterated that APC remains committed to improving the standard of living for citizens and welcomed the new members to their cause.
