Like Edo, another state postpones schools resumption date

Kano State Government has postponed the resumption date for primary and post-primary schools for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Recall that the government had earlier announced that schools were to resume on September 9, 2024.
However, in another statement released on Saturday, the Director of Public Enlightenment of the Ministry of Education, Balarabe Kiru, quoted the Commissioner of Education, Umar Doguwa, explaining that the decision to postpone the resumption date was due to some urgent reasons.
Doguwa, who declined to state the exact reason for the postponement, said that a new date for resumption would soon be announced by the ministry.
The statement read, “I wish to inform pupils, students, and parents that the announcement made earlier for school resumption on 8 and 9 September 2024 is now being postponed due to some urgent reasons that will help improve the conducive learning atmosphere for our children.
“Another date for resumption will be announced in due course,” the commissioner was quoted as saying in the statement.
The statement appealed to both students and parents/guardians to bear with any inconvenience the postponement might have caused them.
Recall that Edo State Government has also announced an indefinite postponement of resumption of all schools in the state over the hike in fuel price.
