Lucas Vazquez will end his long career at Real Madrid after the FIFA Club World Cup concludes later this year.

The versatile wide man, who has been a reliable figure at the Bernabeu for more than a decade, is preparing to bid farewell as the club begins a new era.

The 33-year-old has been part of one of the most successful periods in Real Madrid’s history, making over 200 appearances in La Liga and collecting an impressive haul of 16 major trophies, including five Champions League titles.

His departure forms part of a broader restructuring plan within the Madrid camp as the club look to refresh their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season. With the extended summer transfer window just around the corner, changes are expected to come thick and fast at Valdebebas.

Reports suggest that Real Madrid have identified Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold as Vazquez’s potential successor. While the move is yet to be confirmed, the England international’s arrival would mark a significant shift in profile, with the club seemingly aiming to inject new energy into the right flank.
