Tinubu appoints 20 APC state chairpersons as heads of federal boards (full list)

President Bola Tinubu has appointed 20 state chairpersons of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to lead various federal boards, strengthening the party’s influence across key government institutions.

The move places prominent APC figures at the helm of critical sectors, including agriculture, education, health, and national security.

The appointees include Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas (Kano), who will chair the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Service, and Mallam Muhammad Massan (Bauchi), appointed to head the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute in Ilorin. Others include Dr. Austian Agada (Benue), now leading the National Agricultural Seed Council, and Hon. Macdonald Ebere (Imo), who takes charge of the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Lagos.

APC Deputy Chairman (South), Chief Emma Eneukwu, was named Chairman of the National Automotive Development Council, while Aminu Musa Bobi (Niger) will oversee the National Library of Nigeria. The list also features notable figures such as Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka (Yobe), now leading the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, and Benjamin Omale (Benue), who takes over the National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu.

Other appointments include Rufus Bature (Plateau) as head of the Nigerian Coal Corporation, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa (Abia) at Project Development Institute (PRODA), and Comrade Mustapha Salihu (Adamawa), now chairing the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu (Abia) will lead the National Parks Headquarters, while Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman (FCT) takes charge of the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, Ibadan.

In the health sector, Pharm. Abass Olayide (Oyo) has been appointed to lead the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Kaduna, and Alhaji Tukur Umar Danfulani (Zamfara) will oversee the Federal Medical Centre, Azare.

Other key appointees include Sola Elesin (Ekiti) at the Nigerian Institute of Mining and Geosciences, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe (Edo) at the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, and Hon. Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi (Taraba) at the Environmental Health Registration Council of Nigeria.

The appointments come as part of the Tinubu administration’s strategy to consolidate APC’s presence in federal institutions, ensuring party loyalists occupy strategic leadership positions.
