Tinubu approves recruitment of 30,000 police officers

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the recruitment of additional 30,000 youth into Nigeria Police Force.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Ahmad Abdulhamid Malam Madori, representing Jigawa North East, confirmed this to newsmen in his office.
He said the Police Service Commission was given approval to recruit more police officers.
He explained that the
government of President Bola Tinubu has approved the recruitment of additional 30,000 youths this year to ensure proper policing and bridging the existing manpower gaps.
“According to him, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the commission go ahead to recruit the number every year to fill the gap in the Force.”
He noted that the service will announce the recruitment via National Dailies and warned Nigerians to be careful not to fall into the hands of scammers.
