Tinubu bags new appointment

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has secured a key leadership position as a member of the Steering Committee of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD).

Her election took place during the 29th Ordinary General Assembly of OAFLAD, held in Addis Ababa alongside the 38th African Union Summit. She will represent West Africa on the eight-member committee, alongside another regional representative, for a two-year term.

Before this appointment, Tinubu had been actively involved in OAFLAD’s initiatives, which focus on healthcare, education, and economic empowerment for women and children across Africa. Her new role is expected to further strengthen Nigeria’s contribution to the organization’s ongoing projects, particularly in advancing its 2025-2030 Strategic Framework.

As a continental body uniting First Ladies, OAFLAD continues to drive development efforts, and Tinubu’s appointment positions her as a key player in shaping policies that impact millions across Africa.
