Torres welcomes Nico at Barcelona

Barcelona and Spain international footballer Ferran Torres, has spoken about the potential arrival of Nico Williams at the Catalan club, admitting that he would relish the chance to play alongside him.
“Of course, I’d love it. I’ve already played with him for Spain, and we could form a great trident if his signing materialises,” added Ferran, speaking to the media during the inauguration of his football campus in Foios (Valencia).
“I haven’t spoken to him about it because these are issues we prefer not to discuss, but all top players want to come to the best clubs, and Barcelona is one of them,” he affirmed.
Ferran also commented on Real Madrid’s summer signings: “We know what kind of club they are, and every summer they try to bring in the best, but we are also very happy with our team.”
Regarding Barcelona, the Valencia-born player dismissed the tag of favourites: “It’s something I don’t like because when you’re the favourite, everyone wants to come after you, although, apart from the Champions League, we’ve won almost everything.”
The forward had words for the Spain national team, openly discussing “winning the World Cup”: “We are a very young team, we have a lot of room for improvement, and even so, being so young, what we have achieved is very significant, so why not think about winning it?”
The attacker also explained his personal situation after undergoing surgery for appendicitis last May: “Physically, I feel good, mentally even better, and I’m already training to return to the team as soon as possible.”
