Ugochinyere accuses PDP of failing to deliver strong opposition

The member representing Ideato Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, has announced that Nigeria will witness the “mother of opposition” in the coming days.
Speaking at his country home in Akokwa, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, Ugochinyere criticized the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for failing to deliver strong and responsible opposition amid the country’s numerous challenges.
The lawmaker expressed discontent with the recent vote of confidence passed by PDP governors on the National Working Committee led by Ambassador Umar Damagum. He accused the party’s leadership of being influenced by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to weaken the PDP’s position as an opposition force.
“The PDP has never been this low in its history,” Ugochinyere lamented.
Ugochinyere revealed that plans are underway to mobilize forces to rescue the PDP and form a formidable opposition capable of holding the government accountable.
“We will return to the legal trenches. We will continue to challenge the continued stay of Damagum and Samuel Anyanwu so that posterity will recognize our efforts.
“If our elders cannot rise to tell Wike to stop this nonsense, we will rise. We are mobilizing all forces; it will be a decisive battle. PDP or no PDP, opposition leaders are ready,” he declared.
The legislator also used the occasion to highlight his achievements in less than two years in office. These include: Sinking boreholes in 20 communities, Renovating schools, Installing 1,700 solar-powered streetlights, and Donating desks and other educational materials.
Ugochinyere reaffirmed his commitment to improving his constituency while advancing the broader goal of a credible opposition that can address Nigeria’s challenges.
