“We were used and dumped,” Nollywood veteran Lalude laments after campaigning for Tinubu

Veteran Nollywood actor Fatai Odua, popularly known as Lalude, has voiced his anger and heartbreak over what he describes as betrayal by the All Progressives Congress (APC), following his involvement in campaigning for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during the last general election.
The respected Yoruba actor didn’t hold back as he recounted how he, alongside other entertainers, spent nearly two months vigorously campaigning for the APC, only to be abandoned once victory was secured.
“After we campaigned for Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu, we were not given a dime. If I should place a curse on them, it will follow them throughout life,” Lalude said bitterly.
He pointed fingers at MC Oluomo, claiming the transport boss was the one who mobilised actors and entertainers for the APC campaign. According to Lalude, MC Oluomo personally made promises to him and fellow veteran actor Alapini but failed to keep his word.
“It was MC Oluomo that gathered us together to campaign. In fact, he personally promised Alapini and I that we should ask him for anything we wanted. We told him what we wanted, but he didn’t fulfil his promise,” he revealed.
The seasoned actor said their efforts were done wholeheartedly and with sweat, stressing that the betrayal hit even harder because of how much they put on the line to support the party.
Visibly pained, Lalude didn’t hide his fury as he rained curses on those he believes sabotaged their chances of receiving the reward they were promised.
“Those that prevented us from receiving money shall be cursed for life,” he declared.
