2 killed as Boko Haram attack church in Borno

Boko Haram terrorists have attacked Bamzir village, under Whuntaku District, in Chibok, Borno State, killing two brothers, Josiah Pogu Pudza, a secondary school student, and Enoch Pogu Pudza.
According to a statement by the media team of the local government chairman of Chibok LGA Mustapha Madu, the incident happened on Sunday.
Channels TV reports that another resident, Esther Yohanna, was injured by gunfire.
The attackers burned down several houses, shops, and the EYN LCC church and stole food and livestock.
The victims were buried Sunday morning, with the local government chairman present.
He visited the affected areas, met the victims’ families, and assessed the damage.
This incident comes just a few days after terrorists launched an attack on a military base in Borno, killing six soldiers.
Similarly, a few days ago, the insurgents also targeted a police station in the state, resulting in the deaths of two officers.
Borno has been at the forefront of Nigeria’s battle against insurgency, with frequent attacks that have claimed countless lives and displaced thousands of residents.
Despite ongoing military operations and government efforts to restore peace, the region continues to grapple with the persistent threat of terrorism.
