4 arrested in Lagos for allegedly stealing tricycles


The Lagos State Police Command, has arrested 4 persons for allegedly stealing tricycles at Ojota area of Lagos State.
The suspects include Jeremiah Ekanem, Bashiru Mohammed, Abdulahi Yerima, and Hassan Abdul.
According to the report, that the incident took place on Tuesday at about 10:00 a.m.
A police source in the division who pleaded anonymity, because he is not authorised to speak on the issue, told our correspondent that the secretary of an Ojota mobility company reported that he received a tip-off that unidentified individuals had stolen some of the company’s tricycles.
Following receipt of the report, a group of detectives from the division swung into action and apprehended the four suspects in different locations.
The source added that the suspects were apprehended in Ondo State, Mile 12, and Idiroko areas of Lagos State.“On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at about 1000 hrs, the secretary of a mobility company in Ojota reported at the Ogudu Police Division that on the same date, at about 0700 hrs, he received a tip-off that three of the company’s tricycles had been stolen by unknown persons.
“On receipt of the report, a team of detectives from the division swung into action and tracked the tricycles to different locations, where four suspects were arrested. One Jeremiah Ekanem, ‘m’, was arrested at Ondo Town, Ondo State, with the first tricycle; Bashiru Mohammed, ‘m’, was arrested at Mile 12, Lagos, with the second tricycle while Abdulahi Yerima, ‘m’ and Hassan Abdul, ‘m’, were arrested at Idiroko, Lagos, with the third tricycle.”
When contacted, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident to our correspondent, adhering that the suspects would be prosecuted after the investigation.
“Suspects will be arraigned after the investigation,” He said.
According to report, that a yet-to-be-identified man was nabbed for allegedly stealing a Toyota Hilux car from his employer in Lagos State.
