Why Fubara sacked Rivers traditional council chairman

Reports emerged as to why Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara sacked the Chairman of the State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Sergeant Awuse.
Thediscovererng.com reports that the monarch was removed during a special meeting between the Governor and traditional rulers at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Port Harcourt.
The removal was attributed to Awuse’s publication of a 2024 calendar that omitted photographs of the Governor and his deputy.
Announcing Awuse’s removal, Fubara said: “I will like to draw your attention to a special insult that wa melted to this government. The council produced a calendar for the year 2024, and the governor’s picture, the deputy governor’s picture was not in the calender. I want to ask you, does it show any sign that that leadership is working with this government?.
“So I’ve decided today that we have to move forward. By the special grace of God, the administrative lifespan of the chairman is one year.
“So at this particular hour, I have to say that ‘with the power vested on me, the tenure of Sergeant Awuse is terminated.”
