Stakeholders seek for urgent climate change

Participants at the Climate Action Africa Forum 24 have once again stressed the importance of prompt and collective action by African nations to address the pressing challenges of climate change.
The recently concluded Climate Action Africa Forum 24, themed “Green Economies, Brighter Futures,” underscored the critical need for prompt and collaborative action to mitigate the effects of climate change in Africa and achieve the global sustainability goals.
Grace Mbah, the Chief Executive Director of the Climate Action Africa Forum, noted that the forum offered a unique opportunity for stakeholders to come together, share ideas, and collaborate on solutions to address the impacts of climate change in Africa.
She said, “With the event, we aim to increase education and awareness on climate change, showcase innovations and projects driving Africa to a sustainable future, and more actively contribute to the expansion of Africa’s green economy.”
The programme featured addresses from the former Minister of Culture Mali and founder of the Great Green Wall of Africa Foundation, Ramatoulaye Ndiaye,
The event included multiple breakout sessions, featuring panel discussions and hands-on workshops, that tackled crucial issues and explored innovative solutions.
The Climate Action Africa Forum 24 (CAAF24) also featured two exciting initiatives: the launch of the Billion Trees for Africa Initiative, which is part of CAA’s community programs, and the introduction of the Pan-African Green Economy Programme. This programme is a partnership with IDEA AFRICA and the Founder Institute that aims to support 5,000 green innovators across Africa by 2035.
