Eid-el-Fitr: Bala congratulates muslim faithfuls, calls for peaceful coexistence

The Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdukadir Mohammed has congratulated Muslims in the state on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration, calling for continued peaceful coexistence among the heterogeneous ethnic and religious groups in the State.
The Governor stated this in a press statement which was issued and signed by the Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mukhtar Gidado, and made available to Journalists Wednesday.
“All thanks and praises go to Almighty Allah for seeing us through the holy month of Ramadan during which all Muslim Ummah across the world observed the obligatory fast at the end of which we are today celebrating the 2024 Eid-el-Fitr. While congratulating the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr, it is my hope that the lessons learned during the month of Ramadan would continue to guide our actions and utterances after the holy month.
“While celebrating the Eid-el-Fitir with merriment, we should also use the occasion to reflect on our past activities and see how we fared spiritually, so that we can take corrective measures towards improving our relationship with Allah (SWT), fellow Muslim Ummah and adherents of other faith. We should emulate Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by making sacrifices for the benefit of the less privileged ones in our society. We should also pray to Almighty Allah for peace, unity and prosperity of our dear State and the country as a whole.”
“Our Government is irrevocably committed to the continued peaceful coexistence among the heterogeneous ethnic and religious groups in the State. I appeal for your continued understanding, cooperation and support towards the realization of this noble objective”
“I would like to appeal to you all to use the occasion of the Eid-el-fitr to strengthen the existing relationships and also establish new ones. You should also imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, love and respect for one another. I also appeal for tolerance and accommodation by the various ethnic, religious and political groups in the State”
“I want to commend you for your perseverance and resilience in the face of the current economic hardship, which is a national problem. As you all know, the State Government in collaboration with the Federal Government are taking measures to ameliorate the situation by providing palliative items in form of foodstuffs. Let me also assure you that Government will continue to take necessary measures to bring succor to the good people of the State. Meanwhile, I want to appeal to you to see the situation as a temporary setback that will be overcome in no distant future”
“Finally, I pray to Allah (SWT) to give us long life and good health to witness more Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. I wish you all a happy Eid-el-Fitr Celebrations”, Governor Mohammed said. END
