Gunmen kidnap 20 students in Benue

Over 20 medical and dental students and a House Officer in Benue State have been kidnapped by gunmen.
They were kidnapped en route to the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) annual convention in Enugu.
The kidnapped students according to reports are students of University of Maiduguri and University of Jos.
They were kidnapped around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday in Otukpo area of the Benue state.
According to Sahara Reporters, the spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the incident, said an investigation had been launched into the abduction.
“Yes, the report of kidnapping is true. The report was received around 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and an investigation is ongoing.”
