South Africans rally behind Miss Kwara to edge out Chidimma Adetshina in miss universe pageant

A dramatic scenario has unfolded in the ongoing Miss Universe pageant, as South Africans have launched a massive campaign to support Miss Kwara, Ufa Dania, in a bid to outdo Chidimma Adetshina.
The move is seen as a retaliation against Adetshina, who faced backlash and was forced to withdraw from the Miss South African beauty pageant due to controversy surrounding her citizenship.
Adetshina, a 23-year-old Law student born to a South African mother and Nigerian father, was allowed to participate in the Miss Universe pageant as a consolation. However, South Africans have rallied behind Dania, a plus-size model, to spite Adetshina.
According to the Miss Universe voting website, Dania is currently leading with 23,901 votes, closely followed by Adetshina with 23,422 votes. The voting results show Adetshina at 19.59% and Dania at 19.99%.
The controversy surrounding Adetshina’s citizenship led to an investigation by South African Home Affairs, which revealed that her mother may have stolen the identity of an innocent South African woman. Adetshina subsequently withdrew from the Miss South African pageant, paving the way for Mia Le Roux, a deaf woman with a cochlear implant, to win the title.
The intense rivalry between Adetshina and Dania has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many Nigerians accusing South Africans of sabotage. As the voting continues, it remains to be seen who will emerge victorious in the end.
