Gen. Abdulsalami storms Katsina over passing of late Dada

Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has received former Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport in Katsina.
The former Head of State had come to offer his condolences to the Governor and the family of Yar’adua over the demise of Hajiya Dada Musa Yar’adua. Governor Radda, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdullahi Jabiru Tsauri, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for Bauchi State in the last general election, Nura Manu Soro, accompanied General Abdulsalami to the Yar’adua family residence to pay their respects.
At the Yar’adua quarters, the Governor and the former Head of State were received by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua and other family members. General Abdulsalami offered prayers for the deceased and sought the Almighty’s comfort for the bereaved family.
In a brief interaction with journalists, General Abdulsalami commended Governor Radda’s efforts in restoring peace and security in Katsina State.
He recalled that when Governor Radda took office in 2023, nearly two-thirds of the local government areas in the state were facing severe security threats. The Governor’s unwavering commitment and strategic interventions have resulted in the restoration of peace, enabling more farmers to cultivate their lands and reducing the risk of hunger in the state.
“I want to thank Almighty Allah that the Governor was able to restore peace in the said local governments, which has made it possible for more farmers to cultivate their farms. This will ensure the reduction of hunger in the state,” said General Abdulsalami.
This visit by ace military officer reflects the shared commitment to support the people of Katsina during times of loss and to recognize the transformative work being done by Governor Radda in addressing the state’s security challenges and fostering agricultural prosperity.
