VIDEO: Protester breaks down in tears, shares struggles amid economic hardship

A heart-wrenching scene unfolded during the Lagos protest as a woman publicly shared her emotional battle with the worsening economic situation in Nigeria.
In a video that has since gone viral, the distraught protester detailed her hardships, painting a grim picture of her daily struggles to survive.
“My children have not eaten breakfast. What if I give up and poison myself?” the woman cried, revealing the depths of her despair. “I can’t even give my mother money because I don’t have anything. I don’t want to go into prostitution because I don’t want to be used for rituals.”
She further lamented how her once-thriving business had crumbled under the economic pressures. “I used to sell drinks, and my shop was full. But now, there’s nothing there again.”
In an expression of deep disappointment, the woman also mentioned how many, including herself, had initially been hopeful when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, known fondly as “Jagaban,” was elected. “When ‘Baba’ was declared the president, we were happy because ‘Jagaban’ was becoming the president, but now we’re not enjoying him.”
