Moses Simon confident Super Eagles will secure maximum points against libya

Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has expressed confidence that the team will secure all three points when they face Libya on Tuesday night in a crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier in Benina, North Africa.
The Super Eagles recently edged out Libya in a hard-fought encounter in Uyo, securing a narrow victory in the closing moments of the game. Both teams are set to clash again, with Nigeria looking to solidify their qualification chances for the tournament, set to be held in Morocco next year.
Simon, who plies his trade with French club FC Nantes, assured fans that the Super Eagles are fully prepared for the challenge, both mentally and physically.
“They will come out to win, that’s good, and we’re well prepared for that,” Simon stated. “We are mentally and physically ready for them.”
In the previous match, Libya frustrated the Super Eagles for much of the game, holding out until the 86th minute when Fisayo Dele-Bashiru finally broke the deadlock to secure a 1-0 win for Nigeria.
Reflecting on that match, Simon emphasized the importance of securing the win, regardless of how tough the game was.
“It was a difficult game, and we were prepared for this, but the most important thing was that we won,” he said.
A victory on the road in Libya would virtually guarantee Nigeria’s qualification for the 2025 AFCON, and Simon is determined to see the team take a significant step closer to that goal.
The Super Eagles will be aiming to build on their recent success and continue their push for a spot in next year’s continental showpiece event.
