PDP governors order return to status quo, resolve internal crisis

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors have directed all aggrieved members of the party to return to the status quo, following a meeting aimed at resolving the recent internal disputes.
Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Bauchi State Governor, made the announcement after an extensive meeting held late Monday into the early hours of Tuesday. He acknowledged that internal disagreements are inevitable in a political party but assured that such issues can always be resolved amicably.
“There is no crisis. The governors, Board of Trustees (BoT), and National Assembly caucus have reached an agreement that the National Working Committee (NWC) should revert to the status quo,” Mohammed stated.
The directive effectively nullifies all recent suspensions within the party, signaling a fresh start for PDP’s leadership.
Umar Damagum, the party’s Acting National Chairman, confirmed that the factional tensions within the NWC have been resolved, adding that no NWC members left during the crisis. “The party is united,” Damagum said, affirming his continued leadership as Acting Chairman.
