Former deputy speaker dies in fatal crash


Former Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Christopher Tunji Ayeni, popularly known as CT Ayeni, has died in a fatal road accident.
Sources revealed that the accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday near Ajase-Ipo in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State while Ayeni was traveling to Ilorin.
He was reportedly driving a Hilux vehicle with an unidentified passenger when the tragic incident happened.
Ayeni, who was the 2023 House of Representatives candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and recently decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC), was a prominent figure in Kwara politics.
He held the traditional title of Akogun of Isapa Land in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.
