Football community mourns death of popular midfielder

Ecuadorian footballer Marco Angulo, a promising 22-year-old midfielder, has tragically passed away following complications from injuries sustained in a car accident last month, his club announced.
Marco Angulo death report was made few hours after reports of the dead of a Nigerian player, Gift Atulewa surfaces online.
Angulo, who played for Ecuador’s top-flight team LDU Quito, had been hospitalized since the October 7 incident, which occurred in the southern part of Quito, Ecuador’s capital.
Reports indicate that Angulo underwent multiple surgeries and spent over a week in intensive care as medical staff fought to stabilize his condition. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries on Monday night.
In a heartfelt statement on Tuesday morning, LDU Quito expressed their grief over Angulo’s passing: “With deep sorrow and sadness, we regret to inform you of the passing of our dear player Marco Angulo. His departure is an irreparable loss, and he will leave an indelible mark in our hearts. We convey our condolences to his family and loved ones.”
Angulo’s parent club, FC Cincinnati, which competes in Major League Soccer, also released a statement expressing their sorrow. “We are heartbroken to share the news of Marco’s passing,” the club wrote, offering their condolences and support to his family during this difficult time.
Angulo’s death has sent shockwaves through the football community in Ecuador and beyond, as fans and teammates remember his potential and commitment to the sport.
