Breaking: Reps confirm Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Army Staff

The House of Representatives on Thursday, confirmed Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
The approval followed the presentation of a report by Babajimi Benson, chairman of the Committee on Defense.
Ekiti-born Oluyede was screened by the Joint Committee on Army and Defense on Wednesday, November 27.
He was appointed Acting COAS by President Bola Tinubu following the ill health of his predecessor, Taoreed Lagbaja, who later passed away.
With this confirmation, Oluyede formally assumes the position, marking a significant step in strengthening the leadership of the Nigerian Army.
