Father of singer-turned-suspect pleads for clemency after gruesome murder

The father of Timilehin Ajayi, the gospel singer-turned-suspect at the center of a chilling murder case, has publicly appealed to the Nigerian government for leniency on behalf of his son.
Ajayi was arrested last week after being found in possession of a severed human head believed to belong to his girlfriend, Salome.
The grisly discovery sent shockwaves across the country and ignited widespread condemnation from netizens.
In an emotional interview with Channels TV, the distraught father begged the authorities to show mercy, calling for intervention from relevant agencies to secure his son’s release. He emphasized that his plea came from a place of parental pain, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.
In stark contrast, Timilehin’s mother took a different stance. While expressing heartbreak over the incident, she insisted that justice must prevail, noting that her sentiments would have been different had the victim been her own daughter. She reiterated her belief in the rule of law, stating her trust in the judicial process to handle the matter appropriately
