Tinubu orders N-Power scheme reform

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed a comprehensive reform of the N-Power program to boost its efficiency and ensure greater impact on Nigerian youths.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, in a recent statement.
The revamped N-Power initiative will now focus on not just training beneficiaries but also connecting them directly to market opportunities and the private sector. This adjustment aims to ensure that acquired skills lead to viable employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, making the program more effective in tackling youth unemployment.
As part of the reform, over 100,000 empowerment tools have been procured to equip youths across the country with the necessary resources to succeed.
Dr. Yilwatda also revealed that President Tinubu has approved a budget of ₦32.7 billion for the implementation of the National Social Investment Program (NSIP) in 2025. This funding will support various initiatives under the NSIP, including cooperative clusters that will provide Nigerians, especially women and youths, with low-interest loans ranging between ₦300,000 and ₦400,000.
The initiative is designed to help vulnerable Nigerians start or expand small businesses, ultimately improving their livelihoods and contributing to economic growth.
“With these reforms, 2025 promises to be a year of significant rewards for Nigerians who have endured the administration’s ongoing economic adjustments,” the minister added.
The reforms align with the Tinubu administration’s #RenewedHope agenda, which aims to create a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria. This update was shared by Tinubu’s Social Media Assistant, Dada Oluwasegun, on X (formerly Twitter), urging Nigerians to remain hopeful as the government rolls out initiatives to alleviate poverty and empower the youth.
