Buhari opens up on health status after leaving office

Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has shared an update on his health, revealing significant improvement two years after leaving office.
Speaking at an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting in Katsina, Buhari noted that visitors have frequently remarked on his healthier appearance since stepping down from power.
“My health has improved since leaving office. People who visited me told me I look better than before,” he disclosed.
Reflecting on the challenges of governing a nation as complex as Nigeria, the former leader explained that those outside the corridors of power often underestimate the demands and intricacies of leadership.
Buhari also urged political leaders to prioritize transparency and accountability, especially in the management of public funds. He emphasized the importance of leadership rooted in integrity and accountability to both Allah and the people.
“It is important for leaders to remember that they are accountable to Allah and the people. Transparency is key in managing public funds,” Buhari stated.
The meeting, convened in preparation for the February 15 local government elections in Katsina, drew prominent political figures, including former governors and National Assembly members. The gathering served as a platform to strategize and strengthen the APC’s position ahead of the upcoming elections.
