How UNIZIK student gets unforgettable valentine’s gift – An expulsion Letter

For many, Valentine’s Day is a time for love, surprises, and heartfelt gifts, but for Precious Mbakwe, a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), the day took a completely unexpected turn.
Instead of roses and chocolates, she received a dismissal letter, effectively ending her academic journey at the institution.
On February 14, 2025, while lovebirds exchanged gifts and sweet messages, Mbakwe was handed an expulsion letter, signed and sealed by the university management. This came after she was found guilty of assaulting a lecturer, an incident that had previously sparked outrage on social media.
While some students unwrapped Valentine’s presents, Mbakwe unwrapped a letter informing her that she was no longer a student of UNIZIK. The irony of the timing was not lost on observers, as many joked that the school had given her a “Valentine’s gift” she would never forget.
Reactions online have been mixed, with some seeing it as a lesson in actions and consequences, while others sympathize with her, calling the expulsion too harsh. Either way, one thing is certain—this is one Valentine’s Day she won’t forget in a hurry.
