Deji Adeyanju blasts Zulum over demolition of opposition candidate’s property

Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has blasted Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State for demolishing property belonging to Hon. Attom Magira, an opposition party candidate.
Adeyanju alleges that Zulum’s actions are motivated by political differences and constitute an abuse of power.
According to Adeyanju, the dispute began when Magira’s support group sponsored a billboard advocating for merger and unity in Borno State.
Zulum responded by destroying the billboard, arresting Magira, and detaining him for nine days, violating his fundamental human rights. Magira was subsequently charged with bogus crimes.
Adeyanju argues that Magira had obtained all necessary permits and approvals for the construction of the building, which was demolished despite having a statutory right of occupancy and development permit from the Borno State Urban Planning and Development Board (BOSUPDB).
