What to know about late Abisola, daughter of former Oyo governor

Abisola Kola-Daisi, the eldest daughter of the late Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has passed away after a brief illness.
Her sudden death, which comes nearly five years after her father’s passing, has left family, friends, and admirers in deep mourning.
Fondly called Abi-KD, Abisola was a well-known entrepreneur, fashion enthusiast, and public figure. She was the founder and CEO of Florence H Luxury, a premier luxury retail brand in Lagos, Nigeria, which she established in 2012. Raised in California after being born in Lagos, she pursued a degree in Finance from California State University, Northridge, before venturing into various industries, including banking, oil and gas, and shipping, before transitioning fully into fashion.
Her prominence extended beyond business; she was recently appointed as Special Adviser to Nigeria’s Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, solidifying her influence in politics and corporate circles.
Abisola was a close friend of American reality stars Khloe Kardashian and Malika Haqq, a reflection of her global social presence. She was known for her opulent lifestyle and active participation in Nigeria’s high society, frequently attending international fashion events.
Her academic journey was as impressive as her career. She attended the British School of Lomé, Togo, where she became fluent in French, before moving to the United States to obtain an AA Degree from Santa Monica College. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from California State University and an MBA in the United Kingdom. In 2022, she furthered her education at Harvard Business School, completing a Master’s degree focused on the power and influence of positive leadership.
Before returning to Nigeria, Abisola worked as a Senior Manager in Retail at Victoria’s Secret. In 2008, she joined Saje Shipping, a subsidiary of MRS Oil and Gas, where she served as Senior Manager – Finance and Administration.
She was married to Kolapo Kola-Daisi, the son of a prominent Ibadan billionaire industrialist, since 2010, and their union was blessed with three children. The couple’s lavish wedding took place in Ibadan on November 6, 2010, following their engagement a day earlier.
Beyond her professional and social accomplishments, Abisola was a dedicated philanthropist. She founded the AKD Foundation and the AKD Kids Foundation to support orphans and homeless children in Nigeria. She was also a patron of the ABC Foundation, a charitable organization established by her mother in Ibadan. Her commitment to humanitarian causes touched many lives, leaving a lasting impact on communities.
As news of her passing spreads, tributes are pouring in from friends, associates, and admirers who remember her for her generosity, elegance, and influence.
