Camavinga suffers injury blow ahead of Copa del Rey final

Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga, will miss the Copa del Rey final after sustaining a complete tear of the adductor tendon in his left leg.
The Frenchman picked up the injury during the match against Getafe on Wednesday.
Bad news for Real Madrid as the season draws to a close. Eduardo Camavinga has sustained a more serious injury than initially feared on Wednesday and will miss the remainder of the campaign, including the Club World Cup.
The French midfielder was forced off with discomfort against Getafe on Wednesday, and the diagnosis was confirmed on Thursday. Camavinga has suffered a complete tear of the adductor tendon in his left leg.
Naturally, the midfielder is a confirmed absentee for the Copa del Rey final, which takes place on Saturday against Barcelona at La Cartuja. It’s a major blow for Ancelotti, who had planned to start the Frenchman in midfield—especially with Mbappe a doubt and racing to be fit in time.
The Italian manager is left with fewer options for his starting XI and may be forced to field Lucas Vazquez at right-back in order to push Fede Valverde into midfield, where he has often featured on the right this season.
The medical report is a heavy blow for Real Madrid. A complete tear means Camavinga will miss the business end of the season, during which Madrid are battling for the La Liga title—and he will also be ruled out of the Club World Cup.
In such a congested fixture list, filled with high-stakes matches, a three-month absence severely disrupts the coach’s plans for the final stretch of the campaign. It’s an early end to Camavinga’s 2024/25 season.
