Afrobeats superstar Davido is receiving praise across social media after warmly hosting veteran highlife musician Bright Chimezie at his Lagos home just days after crediting him as the inspiration behind one of his latest songs.

Recall that Davido had recently revealed that his song “With You” was inspired by Chimezie’s classic “Because of English.” In a public show of appreciation, Davido promised to fly the legendary musician to Lagos and host him personally.

In another video, Davido is seen placing a video call to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, introducing Bright Chimezie and promising to bring the highlife legend to the state to meet the governor personally. During the call, the governor and Chimezie exchanged pleasantries.

Davido also called his wife, Chioma, connecting her with Chimezie on a video call. The two spoke in Igbo, further highlighting Davido’s commitment to cultural roots and respect for musical legends.
