Barcelona confirm Raphinha’s contract renewal

Barcelona has announced the renewal of Brazilian forward Raphinha, who will remain with the club until 2028.
Barcelona are wasting no time in tying down key players. Just 24 hours after announcing the contract extension of coach Hansi Flick, the club confirmed on Thursday that Raphinha has also signed a new deal.
The Brazilian winger, who was previously under contract until 2027, has extended his stay at the Camp Nou by a further year, committing to the Catalan side until 30 June 2028.
“FC Barcelona and the player Raphael Dias ‘Raphinha’ have reached an agreement for the renewal of his contract, which will now run until 30 June 2028,” read the official club statement.
Raphinha has been one of the standout performers in what has been a stellar season for the Catalan side. The winger has contributed an extraordinary 34 goals and 22 assists in 56 official appearances, playing a decisive role in the club’s treble-winning campaign: the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
It marks a remarkable turnaround for the former Leeds United man, who just last summer appeared close to the exit door. Now, he’s ended the season as a key figure and one of the most influential players in Europe.
His exploits have even sparked discussion around a potential Ballon d’Or nomination. The main caveats remain Barcelona’s absence from the Champions League final and Brazil’s struggles at an international level, with the national team going through one of its most turbulent periods in recent history.
