Man United put all players for sale after Europa’s defeat

Manchester United are willing to listen to offers for every player in the team in the wake of their damaging Europa League final defeat.

Wednesday’s Europa League final defeat in Bilbao not only saw Manchester United pass up on the opportunity to win their third trophy in three seasons, but also to earn a golden ticket into next season’s Champions League, which could’ve brought £100million in revenue.

Brennan Johnson’s first-half goal leaves the Red Devils without European football for the first time since 2014/15. Already struggling to balance the books, the financial implications of their defeat could be catastrophic for Manchester United.

Man United are reportedly closing in on the signing of Wolves’ Matheus Cunha, and also have Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap on their radar. But without the additional revenue from European games, the club will have no choice but to sell players to raise funds.

According to David McDonnell, the club are prepared to listen to offers for every player in the team. This means that high-profile stars like Casemiro, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Andre Onana, Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund could also leave the club this summer.

Even players previously deemed untouchable, like skipper Bruno Fernandes, are said to be available on the market to the highest bidders. Fernandes said after losing at the San Mames that he would be willing to leave Man United if the club need to cash in on him.

Alejandro Garnacho also put his future at the club in doubt after he revealed his frustration for not starting against Tottenham. Ruben Amorim’s side are also working to offload loaned-out trio Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho this summer.
