Transfer: Arsenal eye Real Madrid’s Rodrygo

Rodrygo has informed Real Madrid about his intention to stay at the club amid speculations that he could be headed to Arsenal this summer.
Real Madrid are already looking towards the 2025/26 campaign following the arrivals of Dean Huijsen and Alexander Arnold to strengthen the club’s defence, and new head coach Xabi Alonso, who will debut in the upcoming Club World Cup in June.
More changes are expected at Los Blancos after a disappointing season, with several players said to be preparing for departures this summer. One of the players linked with a move away from the Spanish capital is Rodrygo Goes.
Arsenal, who are in desperate need of attacking gunpowder, are among the teams interested in the Brazilian star, though no negotiations or concrete offers have been put on the table. Nevertheless, Rodrgyo intends to carry on with Real Madrid, reports Spanish outlet ‘Marca’.
The 24-year-old, who has been sidelined in the final games of the season due to injury, is said to have informed Real Madrid about his intention to stay at the club. He will be expected to step up his performances to convince the chiefs to keep him.
On paper, Rodrygo’s season has not been a poor one, scoring 14 goals and providing 9 assists from 51 appearances across all competitions this term. However, he has shown signs of inconsistency, concluding the campaign on a 14-match goalless streak
