Ribadu reacts over alleged involvement in Emir Bayero’s return to Kano

The National Security Adviser (NSA) has reacted to his alleged over his involvement in the return of dethroned Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero, to the city.
He denied his involvement to the return of the deposed monarch on Saturday.
Aminu Abdulsalam, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, had alleged that Ribadu provided two aircraft for Bayero’s early morning return to Kano at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.
“The National Security Adviser provided two jets to bring the dethroned emir back to Kano and to the palace,” claimed the deputy governor.
While reacting to the alleged involvement, Zakari Mijinyawa, the spokesperson for the NSA’s office, refuted this claim.
He categorically stated that Ribadu did not supply the aircraft used to transport Bayero to Kano.
Mijinyawa cautioned politicians to exercise restraint in their statements, emphasizing that irresponsible remarks could undermine the efforts of security agencies striving to maintain peace in the state.
“I saw the comments circulating on social media, but they are false. The NSA did not provide any air transport to Kano,” Mijinyawa said.
“Political actors should avoid spreading misinformation that could destabilize the state’s peace and order.”
Recall that Governor Abba Yusufon Friday reinstated Lamido Sanusi, the 14th emir of Kano, four years after he was dethroned.
The reinstatement followed the repeal of the state’s Emirate Council Law 2019, which had established five emirate councils and appointed five first-class emirs.
The governor announced M Sanusi’s reinstatement on Thursday, but the Federal High Court has since issued an order preventing the state government from implementing the new emirate council law that reinstated Sanusi.
Security agencies in Kano have also urged all parties involved in the dispute to comply with the court order and have pledged to maintain peace and stability in the region.
